Τι παστίτσιο είναι αυτό;

Marx, the Master of Sarcasm and Wit

Δάνειο από το blog  http://mrmetalman1000.blogspot.co.uk/2012/01/polemic-in-capital.html?spref=bl

One of the reasons Capital, Vol. 1 is, despite its intimidating subject matter and length, the level of rhetoric used in the argument. Some moments are just plain funny. Examples are abound, but one I recently read deserves mention.

Eyes of Dawn (1991)

"The place you can't run away from,
even if you want to,
because you'd have nowhere to go.

That place you try to forsake
but never can.

Is that the country people talk about?"

Jang Ha Rim wondering aloud in episode 13 of the MBC drama.

Notes on Contemporary Imperialism by Prabhat Patnaik

Phases of Imperialism
Lenin dated the imperialist phase of capitalism, which he associated with monopoly capitalism, from the beginning of the twentieth century, when the process of centralization of capital had led to the emergence of monopoly in industry and among banks. The coming together (coalescence) of the capitals in these two spheres led to the formation of “finance capital” which was controlled by a financial oligarchy that dominated both these spheres, as well as the State, in each advanced capitalist country. The struggle between rival finance capitals for “economic territory” in a world that was already completely partitioned, not just for the direct benefits that such “territory” might provide, but more importantly for keeping rivals out of its potential benefits, necessarily erupted, according to him, into wars, which offered each belligerent country’s workers a stark choice: between killing fellow workers across the trenches, or turning their guns on the moribund capitalism of their own countries, to overthrow the system and march to socialism.

What Is The European Economic Crisis About? – Prabhat Patnaik

THE standard view of the European economic crisis is that it consists in the loss of confidence of the “market” in the creditworthiness of several European governments which have piled up massive debts because of their past profligacy; the solution to the crisis correspondingly lies in their cutting back on their expenditures, and adopting austerity measures, so that apparently unexceptionable precepts like “one must live within one’s means”, and “one must cut one’s coat according to one’s cloth”, which are valued by the “market”, are not henceforth violated.

The meaning of life

Morning Dew [아침이슬] by Kim Min-Gi

Morning Dew

Like morning dew, prettier than pearls, hanging on every blade of grass
When sorrow hangs in my heart, drop by drop
I hike the morning hill and learn a little smile

The red sun rises over the graves
And the sweltering heat of the day is my trial
I shall now go, into that barren desert
Casting off all the sorrow, I shall now go.
